LGBT Speed Mentoring – Tuesday March 10th

LGBT Mentoring scheme (Get out, stay out!): Speed mentoring event –  Tuesday March 10th – 18.30-20.30 – G17 Nuffield
Now in its third year, the LGBT Mentoring scheme matches students with ‘out’ LGBT employees across a range of occupations in order to get advice on coming out at work. We are running a ‘speed mentoring’ event on Tuesday, March 10 enable you to:
– have some speed mentoring conversations with our mentors
– find out how the scheme works and how to sign up for next year
– talk to current student mentees about their experience of the scheme.
There will be food and drinks provided, so in order to gauge numbers, it would be helpful if you could email:  to book a place.
See for more details about the scheme and a pdf of the scheme handbook.

Happy New Year, and welcome to the brand new website of the University of Birmingham LGBTQ Association!

Over time, we hope to see this blog become a dynamic webspace which keeps our members up to date with the activities and events being organised for the association, while spreading our message and political campaigns with any visitors.

While we get things up and running, why not check out some of the events we’re planning for the spring term of 2015? The committee are very pleased to be working alongside the university to provide a range of public and member-exclusive events to commemorate LGBT History Month 2015, and we hope plenty of you will be able to join us throughout February for these exciting celebrations.

This site is also a hub for our social media, so if you’re yet to join us on any of our networks then you can find all of them listed on various pages. Happy exploring!

For those of you still at university, enjoy your last week of holidays, and I look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon!
